What are the requirements for LED direct insertion in use?

Light emitting diode (LED), referred to as LED for short, is a commonly used light emitting device. It emits light by combining electrons and holes. It is widely used in the lighting field. LED can efficiently convert electric energy into light energy, which has a wide range of applications in modern society, such as lighting, flat panel display, medical devices, etc.


Do you also use the LED once you get it, and how much do you know about the precautions before and after use? In order to let you know about the product features, I have summarized a description about direct insertion here:


1. Material confirmation; Confirm whether the LED BIN area meets the requirements before use. For example, if the parameters such as voltage, light intensity and wave band belong to the same BIN area, the products in the same BIN area should be used together. If LED products not in the same BIN area are applied to the same object, their applicability shall be evaluated (if different light intensity BIN areas are used together, the brightness may be different, and the luminous color may be different when different bands are used together).


2. Packaging and storage; Before unpacking, prevent moisture from entering the LED. It is recommended that the in-line LED series be stored in a moisture resistant cabinet with desiccant. The storage conditions are: temperature 5-30 ℃, humidity 35-60%.


3. Preventive measures during use; Before use, please confirm whether the package is in good condition. If the package is damaged and air leaks, check whether the lamp foot bracket is oxidized. If it is oxidized, it is not recommended to use it again. The principle of "use as much as you can, use as much as you can" shall be followed when using. The unpacked lamp beads shall be used up within 24 hours as soon as possible. Please repack the leftover materials and store them in an environment with a humidity lower than 30% and a temperature of 10-30 ℃. If the LED lamp beads need to bend their feet, it is recommended that they should be at least 1.6mm away from the lamp body. The bending must be completed before welding.


4. Welding conditions; The wave soldering temperature of this product is recommended to be below 260 ℃, and it is also recommended to use low temperature solder paste. The number of wave soldering is recommended to be less than 2. It is not recommended to apply this product to bent PCB. Avoid rapid cooling during welding, avoid mechanical force or excessive vibration in any situation during LED welding cooling, and do not bend PCB after welding.


5. Electrostatic protection; LED is an electrostatic sensitive electronic device, and electrostatic protection measures should be taken. Example: Wear an electrostatic ring during use. All equipment and instruments shall be grounded. It is recommended to conduct static damage test on the assembled finished products.


6. Strongly recommended; In the process of using this product, customers should first confirm the first article and conduct small batch trial production, and then put the finished products into use in large batches after passing various tests.


7. Other precautions; Long term exposure of LED to sunlight or occasional exposure to purple light may cause the colloid to turn yellow. To ensure the photoelectric performance of LED, please keep the surface of LED luminous area clean. When designing the circuit, it is necessary to prevent the reverse voltage or large current generated during the switching process from impacting the LED instantaneously, and avoid sharp tools such as tweezers touching the gel part during use.
