LED (Light Emitting Diode), a light emitting diode, is a solid state semiconductor device that can convert electric energy into visible light. It can directly convert electricity into light. The heart of LED is a semiconductor chip. One end of the chip is attached to a bracket, one end is a negative pole, and the other end is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, so that the entire chip is encapsulated by epoxy resin.

1. Be careful of the low price trap. The price of LED light source varies greatly. The price of LED with the same color and brightness can vary several times. This gap is mainly reflected in the reliability, light attenuation, appearance and technology of LED. Low price LED has small chip size, rough electrodes, poor materials (phosphor and glue), poor current resistance, poor temperature and humidity changes, fast light decay, and short life, so it may not pay off to pursue low prices.

2. Recognize the relevant standards. From the perspective of safety, the products should conform to the relevant international and national standards. As LED is a new product, China's national standard lags behind and only product qualification test is provided. Therefore, international safety certification (such as GS, CE, UL, etc.) is the standard to measure the quality of LED lamps. At the same time, few manufacturers have international safety certification and national product quality certificate, so they need to carefully identify the authenticity of the certificate when purchasing. The price of products with international safety certification is generally high.

3. LED lamps with constant current power supply are selected. The prices of resistance, capacitance, IC and other components of LED drive power supply vary greatly. The rationality of the scheme adopted for the whole power supply and the design of the circuit itself will directly affect the quality of products. Some drive power supplies are only constant voltage, not constant current, and LED lights must be constant current to better ensure quality and service life. Therefore, extra attention should be paid to this when purchasing, especially for high-power LED lamps.
